See light take a path

As children assemble the lamp, they can investigate how light is guided along the fibers through repeated internal reflection. The finished model makes an abstract science idea visible and invites questions about the route light takes.

What’s included

The kit provides the wooden project components and assembly instructions, supported by an HD video tutorial. Allow approximately 20–40 minutes for the build, depending on the maker’s experience.

A creative STEM experience to share

Use the lamp for a school parent council event, a learning pod, learning centre or camp, a community activity, or a STEM birthday party. Makers can compare their finished projects and explain what they notice about the glowing fibers.

Make curiosity visible

The project brings creative making and experiential learning together. Observing and explaining the light path encourages critical thinking in a memorable, future-ready learning activity.
