Sound-Activated Igloo Ultimate Wooden STEM Kit

Build an igloo that lights up when you clap. Assemble a wooden structure, connect its sound sensor and LEDs, then make it your own with paint or colour. The moment the lights respond to sound makes the circuit feel real.

At a glance: Ages 8+  ·  About 45–60 minutes, depending on experience  ·  Moderate challenge  ·  3 AA batteries required (not included)

Build, clap and see the response

Put the structure and circuit together, power the sensor and make a sound. The sensor triggers the LEDs inside the igloo. It’s experiential learning in action: children build, test and connect sound with a circuit’s response. That hands-on problem-solving makes future-ready learning tangible.

What’s included

• Precision-cut wooden parts for the igloo structure
• Sound sensor module and LED lighting components
• Printed instructions, video tutorial and group activity guide

Just add three AA batteries. Batteries are not included. The natural wood can be painted and personalized; paint is not included. Adult supervision is required because the kit contains small parts and electrical components.

A hands-on experience for families and groups

Build together at home, or bring the sound-activated igloo to a shared activity:

• School parent councils: host a STEM fundraiser or parent engagement event where families build together and take their projects home.
• Home learning pods, learning centres and camps: use the build as a group challenge about sound, sensors, circuits and creative design.
• Community organizations: bring children and families together around a project they can see working.
• Parents and event planners: make a STEM birthday party for ages 8+ creative and memorable.
