Basketball Catapult Ultimate Wooden STEM Kit

Build it. Aim it. Launch it. Try again. Assemble a wooden basketball catapult with an adjustable launcher and movable hoop, then experiment with how each change affects the shot. Every launch gives young makers a reason to observe, rethink and improve.

At a glance: Ages 8+  ·  About 45–60 minutes, depending on experience  ·  Moderate challenge

From wooden pieces to a working catapult

Build the launcher, position the hoop and test different shots. Explore force, motion and launch angle as you compare what happens when you adjust the setup. It’s experiential learning in action: make a prediction, test it and use the result to solve the next challenge. That hands-on thinking makes future-ready learning tangible.

What’s included

• Precision-cut wooden parts and the components to build the adjustable catapult and movable hoop
• Step-by-step printed instructions and video guidance
• Group activity guide for a shared build and launch challenge

All essential build components are included. This kit contains small parts; adult supervision is recommended during assembly and use.

A launch challenge for families and groups

Build together at home, or turn the catapult into a hands-on activity for a group:

• School parent councils: host a STEM fundraiser or parent engagement event where families build, test shots and take their projects home.
• Home learning pods, learning centres and camps: run a repeatable challenge about force, motion and design. A classroom lesson plan with an assignment and grading rubric is available for educators.
• Community organizations: bring children and families together around a lively build-and-test activity.
• Parents and event planners: make a STEM birthday party for ages 8+ interactive and memorable.
